From 23 April 2026, visitors to the UK and Channel Islands will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).
Guernsey Marinas is advising visitors from outside the Common Travel Area that they require an ETA before travelling to Guernsey by private vessel, including yachts and pleasure craft.

Regardless of where you’re arriving from, all individuals aboard your vessel need a valid passport.
This form is essential for all private vessels arriving in the Bailiwick of Guernsey (Guernsey, Alderney, Herm, Sark). It helps us manage goods, people, and meet international requirements.
Your first arrival in the Bailiwick must be at an approved port. These are:
You cannot arrive directly at Herm or Sark.
Bringing your furry friend is usually straightforward, especially from within the Common Travel Area (CTA).
Unless express permission is granted by a Customs Officer, vessels with animals on board may not moor alongside a pontoon or quay if arriving from outside the CTA. Any animal found ashore or not confined on the vessel (if arriving from outside CTA via an unapproved route) will face strict penalties.
