The Queen Elizabeth II (QE2) Marina is Guernsey’s largest, featuring 755 berths across 13 pontoons and accommodating vessels up to 30m in length. This well-sheltered marina offers ample free parking at both North Beach and Salerie car parks. You’ll find basic facilities on the east arm, with chandleries, marine traders, supermarkets, and cafes all close by.
Access is available approximately three hours before and after high water, and as our deepest basin, it’s ideal for yachts with deeper drafts. It’s also conveniently located for visiting our marine services centre on the New Jetty.
The Albert Marina, nestled in the heart of St. Peter Port just south of the Victoria Marina, accommodates around 315 vessels across six well maintained pontoons. With its unique charm and picturesque setting, it’s likely the most photographed and Instagram-worthy of our local marinas.
Access is available approximately three hours either side of high water, and it’s incredibly convenient for town amenities, including fantastic bars and restaurants like The Slaughterhouse and Coco, marine traders, chandleries, and the Guernsey Yacht Club.
St. Sampson’s Marina, located to the north of the island, is home to about 340 local vessels, predominantly smaller open boats, creating a charming, fishing village atmosphere. This marina is split into an inner section, tucked within the St. Sampson’s waterfront, and an outer section accommodating larger vessels up to 15m. It offers a particularly pretty and calm vista at high water, especially during early morning or sunset.
Its primary appeal is for islanders living in the north, benefiting from the convenience of a well-stocked chandlery and boatyard (Marine & General) on-site, alongside other local marine traders. St. Sampson’s also offers enhanced security with coded gate access to gangways and ample free parking.
St Peter Port is home to various drying areas. These areas are tidally restricted and dry out at low water. Prices vary by area but are a cost effective way to berth your vessel if you don’t need walk ashore access, electricity or water facilities. Installation and maintenance of ropes and chains are not included in the berthing fee.
If you’d like to have the freedom of being able to use your boat 24/7, then a berth in the Pool – Area A may be more suitable. With no tidal restrictions you can be in Herm enjoying a drink before the Marina gates have even opened. Whilst you won’t be able to walk to your vessel or connect to electricity or water facilities, the cost for this is significantly lower than a marina mooring. Installation and maintenance of chains can be arranged through the Marine Services Centre.
Guernsey Marinas offers the perfect base for exploring the Channel Islands and beyond. As an annual berth holder, you'll have instant access to incredible cruising grounds, making island hopping to Herm, Sark, Alderney, and Jersey a breeze. You can also easily venture further afield to France and the UK. With three local marinas, as well as drying and swinging moorings, we have a suitable berth for every boat. Our competitive rates and friendly, on-hand team ensure a stress-free experience, allowing you to focus on what you love most - being on the water.

Who needs to register?
All boats in Guernsey that are 12ft (3.66m) or longer, or capable of speeds over 17 knots, must be registered with Guernsey Marinas (Local Register). This is a legal requirement under the Boats and Vessels Ordinances (1970 & 1994). If your vessel uses a Guernsey Marinas mooring or States property, you also need valid insurance with at least £3 million public liability cover. Boats already on the UK Small Ship Register, Part 1 Registry, or registered as commercial fishing vessels must still be listed locally.
How to Register
Complete and sign the Registration Form and return to guernsey.marinas@ports.gg, or in person to Marine Services Centre, New Jetty, St Peter Port. Provide proof of insurance and, for new vessels, proof of ownership (e.g. bill of sale). For second-hand boats already on the register, ensure the “previous owner” section is signed or attach a valid bill of sale.
* Insurance is always required for vessels over 17 knots, and for any vessel on a harbour mooring or States land.
RegisterSpace in St Peter Port and St Sampson’s marinas is always in high demand, so we run a waiting list.
If you’re thinking about buying a boat and want to keep it in one of our harbours, make sure you register your interest early using the Marina Berth Waiting List Application Form. Send your completed form to guernsey.marinas@ports.gg, or in person to Marine Services Centre, New Jetty, St Peter Port. The current fee for joining the waiting list can be found in our fees and charges.
Already bought a boat and then want to join the list? We’ll do our best, but there’s a chance we won’t be able to find a space for you straight away.
We have varying options of berthing depending on requirements, so please get in touch to discuss or complete an annual berthing request here.
ApplyIf you no longer require a mooring, please give 30 days’ written notice by completing and returning the mooring cancellation form to guernsey.marinas@ports.gg, or in person to Marine Services Centre, New Jetty, St Peter Port.
Please note that fees may still be charged after your notice is received. If a mooring is left unused for more than six months without prior notification, Guernsey Marinas may revoke it.
